Storage

The boat includes two integrated storage lockers that provide convenient space for fishing equipment, safety gear, batteries, ropes, tools, and other onboard accessories.

  • Center storage locker
  • Stern storage locker

Progressive V-Bottom Hull

The hull features a progressive deadrise that increases toward the bow. The deadrise starts at 10.5° at the stern, increases to 13.5° approximately 1.25 m (4′ 1 7/32″) from the stern, and reaches 23.5° approximately 2.50 m (8′ 2 7/16″) from the stern.

This hull shape provides good stability at rest while the sharper forward sections help the boat move more comfortably through small waves and chop.

Aluminum Construction

Imperial Version

  • Bottom and sides: 1/8″ aluminum
  • Frames, longitudinals, and transom: 5/32″ aluminum

Metric Version

  • Bottom and sides: 3 mm aluminum
  • Frames, longitudinals, and transom: 4 mm aluminum

Construction Method

The skiff is designed as a fully welded aluminum structure. The bottom and side panels are made from 3 mm (1/8″) aluminum, while the frames, longitudinals, and transom are reinforced with 4 mm (5/32″) aluminum.

Its compact dimensions and relatively simple hull geometry make the individual components easy to cut, fit, position, and weld. Proper tack welding and a controlled welding sequence are recommended to maintain hull alignment and minimize heat distortion.

Difficulty Level

Difficulty level: Easy.

This design is particularly suitable for beginner and DIY aluminum boat builders. The compact hull, simple structural arrangement, and straightforward assembly make it a practical first aluminum skiff project.

Previous professional boat-building experience is not required, although basic aluminum cutting, fitting, and welding skills are recommended.

Power and Transom

The boat is designed for a 20″ (508 mm) long-shaft outboard engine. The transom has a 12° inclination angle, and the recommended engine range is 10–20 HP.
